Enabling Circular Economy
How many times a day do we slip into textiles? Our wardrobe and clothing, our towels, our blankets, even our living room. It is difficult to imagine a world without textiles — they are a fundamental element in everyday life and a very important sector of the global economy. With a very high demand globally, the negative externalities on the environment are also very high. It is estimated that the textiles industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions – more than international flights and maritime shipping combined. Textiles industry is a major contributor to climate change.
In the quest to make the textiles sector more efficient and less polluting, one answer lies in a circular economy approach. This means using more renewable and safe inputs, increasing product durability, reuse, or turning used products into new ones. We are making this challenge a reality using technology.
Our Belief
We believe climate change is biggest threat to mankind in the current time and it is one of the most complex challenges humanity has ever faced. Due to climate change, oceans are warming, sea levels are rising, ice sheets and glaciers are shrinking, arctic sea ice is decreasing, and record high temperature events are increasing with a lot of change in rainfall patterns. We care about climate change not only because of increasing degrees of celsius in temperature or parts per million CO2 but also because it in turn affects all sectors and lives of each human across the world. While working to solve climate change, we want to work towards solving social problems like poverty, inequality in employment opportunities, and lack of education. The problem we are solving is big and risks billions of people, so we cannot wait and must work at the fastest possible pace.
